Borussia-Park, Mönchengladbach, Germany.
Saturday 23rd May.
Kick-off: 14:30 (BST).
TV: BT Sport 1 (UK).
Battling Borussia
Judging by their performance against Eintracht Frankfurt in the previous matchday, it was hard to believe that the Mönchengladbach players had not played in two months. They never looked back after scoring inside the first minute, and they ran out 1-3 winners in a stadium where fellow title contenders Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig were handily beaten. However, they can’t afford any slip-ups and need to continue their winning ways and heap pressure on Bayern Munich. A Borussia Mönchengladbach win is currently at 13/10.
Outsiders
Bayer Leverkusen were also in fine form on Monday evening with a comprehensive 1-4 win over Werder Bremen. Kai Havertz bagged a brace in that match, and you can back him at 7/4 to score again during this match. However, a loss here will definitely end any slim hopes of a title for Bayer and a Champions League spot will be the best they can hope for should that happen.
Match preview
Borussia have won the last three encounters between the two, and they head into this match as favourites to make it four in a row. Rather than relying on one person, goals are spread out amongst the players for both sides as Borussia have six players with at least five goals this season and Bayer have six players with at least four. Marcus Thuram, the son of French World Cup winner Lilian Thuram, is one of the most sought-after players in the world right now and he’s at 7/5 to score during this match.
Injury news
Borussia Mönchengladbach: Denis Zakaria.
Bayer Leverkusen: Kevin Volland.
