Today, we will be previewing the biggest games of matchday two of the 2020/21 Champions League.
Marseille vs Manchester City
Tuesday 27th October, 20:00, BT Sport 2
Manchester City won their first group match against Porto 3-1 and a win against Marseille will put them in command of group C. Pep Guardiola’s men have struggled against French sides in recent times; they were knocked out by Lyon last season and by Monaco in 2017. They were also beaten at home to Lyon in the group stages of the 2018/19 competition. Marseille lost to Olympiakos in their opening match due to an injury-time goal. A result here is a must if they want to progress to the knockout stages of the competition.
Betting tip: A Marseille win is at current generous odds of 7/1!
Krasnodar vs Chelsea
Tuesday 20th October, 20:00, BT Sport 3
Both sides drew their opening group match, but Chelsea enter this one as favourites. A trip to Russia is never easy and judging by their previous encounter with Rennes; the Russians will sit back and look to expose the Blues on the counter.
Betting tip: 2 or 3 goals during the match is at 20/21.
Manchester United vs RB Leipzig
Wednesday 21st October, 20:00, BT Sport 2
Manchester United are attempting to add to their impressive opening win over PSG with another over RB Leipzig. Leipzig also won their opening match and made the semi-finals of last year’s competition, meaning Man Utd won’t have an easy ride if they are to make the next stage.
Betting tip: Man United to win and both teams to score is currently at 23/10.
Juventus vs Barcelona
Wednesday 21st October, 20:00, BT Sport 3
This is, without doubt, the highest-profile matchup of this season’s group stages. The 2015 finalists both recorded comfortable victories in their opening matches beating Dynamo Kyiv and Ferencvaros respectively. The other two teams in the group shouldn’t pose much of a threat which is fortunate as both sides are in a transition phase after acquiring new managers during the summer in the form of former players Andrea Pirlo and Ronald Koeman. Barcelona lost El Clasico at home to Real Madrid on Saturday, can they make a swift recovery and defeat the Italian champions?
Betting tip: Juventus to win at 13/8.
