How to watch the English Premier League? Sky Sports & BT Sport.
The 2019/20 Premier League season is almost over, and we’re taking a look at what’s in store for the final day.
At the top
Liverpool won the title with ease on the 25th June after Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City. Depending on Man City’s result, they could end up being 21 points ahead of second which would be a Premier League record — Liverpool currently have 96 points. You can get odds of 46/100 for Liverpool and Manchester City to win their final games of the season.
European places
One of the biggest talking points of the final day is about which team will gain entry into next season’s Champions League. Leicester and Manchester United are in the hunt for a spot, and they’re playing each other. The winner of that game will be guaranteed to finish in the top 4. If you think Manchester United will win, they are at odds of 5/4. Man Utd are the favourites for that match mainly because of the poor form of Leicester who have struggled since the new year and the restart. Chelsea are also not guaranteed a Champions League place, and they have to get a draw at home to Wolves. If they lose that match and the other match ends in a draw or a Leicester victory; Chelsea would have to settle for a Europa League place.
Relegation zone
Norwich are still the only team confirmed to be playing Championship football next season. Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Watford are the teams hoping not to join the Canaries. Villa’s 1-0 midweek win over Arsenal has made them the favourites to avoid relegation as they sit in 17th place with a trip to fellow strugglers West Ham. Watford have a more challenging game to deal with as they travel to Arsenal and will likely need a result to avoid the drop. They surprisingly sacked their manager Nigel Pearson with just two games remaining. Aston Villa and Watford sit on 34 points with a similar goal difference, and Watford need to better Aston Villa’s result to survive. Things are looking bleak for Bournemouth, but the Cherries can still survive if they defeat Everton at Goodison Park with both Aston Villa and Watford losing. Bournemouth are at 19/10 to beat Everton.
