French Open Betting Tips - Men’s Singles

french open 2020

French Open

Roland Garros, Paris, France.

Sunday 27th September 2020 - Sunday 11th September 2020.

How to watch the French Open?

Eurosport and ITV.

The best tennis players in the world take to the clay of Paris for the last grand slam of the year at Roland Garros!

Novak Djokovic

Djokovic bounced back from his US Open disqualification with a win at the Rome Masters in which he defeated Diego Schwartzmann in the final via straight sets. He has won the French Open once before in 2016 and is seen by some as the only threat to another Nadal victory.

Novak Djokovic is at 21/10 to win the French Open.

Rafael Nadal

He has won this tournament an incredible twelve times and obviously heads into this year’s French Open as the favourite. However, his preparation has been less than ideal considering the large break in the season and opting out of the US Open. He was also defeated in straight sets in the quarter-finals of the Italian Open by Diego Schwartzmann. There have been numerous times in the past in which he was defeated in the lead up to Roland Garros but then won the tournament with ease. Age catches up with everyone, and his domination of the tournament will likely end in the next year or two.

Rafael Nadal is at 11/10 to lift another French Open trophy.

Dominic Thiem

Thiem finally won his first slam at the 2020 US Open with a dramatic five-set victory over Alexander Zverev after being two sets down. He has made the final here in the previous two years — losing to Nadal both times. He has beaten Nadal four times on clay, but can’t keep up with his intensity when playing him at the French Open. His new-found confidence in gaining a grand slam will take the pressure off slightly if he is to face him again.

Dominic Thiem is at 4/1 to win the French Open.

Alexander Zverev

Zverev made his first slam final at the US Open and was just one set away from clinching the title until Thiem came back. Despite his final defeat, he will be pleased with his performances in slams this year as he also made the semis of the Australian Open. His grand slam record was poor before this year, and he appears to have rectified this problem. He has won two masters titles on clay and will be one of the favourites for the tournament.

Zverev is at 40/1 to win the French Open.

Diego Schwartzmann

Schwartzmann is a clay-court specialist and one of the in-form players at the moment after his final appearance in Rome. He defeated Nadal along the way, and the Spaniard will want to avoid him during the tournament. He certainly has the pedigree to cause the top players a few problems at Roland Garros.

Diego Schwartzmann is at 66/1 to win the French Open.
