How to watch the US Open in the UK?
Amazon Prime Video
A rather unique and slightly depleted US Open begins with this tournament being the first grand slam since the tennis calendar resumed.
Novak Djokovic
The heavy favourite here; he has won the US Open three times with the last being in 2018. A win will take him to 18 slams; one behind Rafael Nadal and two behind Roger Federer. He also enters this slam in good form after winning the Cincinnati Masters final against Milos Raonic after losing the first set.
Novak Djokovic is at 8/11 to win the US Open.
Danil Medvedev
Medvedev narrowly missed out on his first slam at the US Open last year after a fifth-set loss to Nadal in the final. He is the most likely to challenge Djokovic with his powerful and accurate groundstrokes being his primary weapon.
Medvedev is at 6/1 to win the US Open.
Dominic Thiem
He was close to winning his first slam earlier in the year at the Australian Open. However, he let his two sets to one lead over Djokovic in the final slip away and ended up losing in five.
Dominic Thiem is at 17/2 to win the US Open.
Stefanos Tsitsipas
Despite being ranked 6th, his grand slam record is rather disappointing. He has never made it past the second round here, and his only decent performance at a slam was a semi-final at the Australian Open in 2019. He is still only 22 and has plenty of time to improve his slam record.
Tsitsipas is currently at 17/2 to win his first slam.
Alexander Zverev
Zverev is another of the younger generation that has struggled to make an impact at grand slams with a semi-final run at the Australian Open earlier this year being his best performance. He has never made it past the fourth round at Flushing Meadows, but with the field being somewhat depleted, he has a good chance of going deep. He has a potentially tough match against former finalist Kevin Anderson in the first round.
Zverev is at 25/1 to win the US Open.
Matteo Berrettini
The Italian announced himself to the tennis world during last year’s run to the semis here. Considering the withdrawals, he has a great chance to match or even better that performance.
Matteo Berrettini is at 50/1 to win in New York.
Milos Raonic
Raonic is in good form coming into the tournament after reaching the final of the Cincinnati Masters. The big-serving Canadian has struggled at the US Open and has never made it past the fourth round. The field is weaker this year, and he’s another player who will fancy himself to make the latter stages of the tournament.
Milos Raonic is at 20/1 to win the US Open.
Denis Shapovalov
Another youngster at 21 that has disappointed massively in the slams with his fourth-round result here in 2017 the best he’s achieved at any slam. The Canadian needs to up his game somewhat if he sees himself winning slams in the future.
Shapovalov is at 66/1 to win the US Open.
